Hi, I'm Hailey.

I’m a Business student at the University of Mississippi with a growing interest in the intersection of business and law. I’m fascinated by how organizations grow, how leaders make difficult decisions, and how law, capital, technology, and human behavior influence those decisions.

I’ve always learned best by getting close to the things I’m curious about. My experience across finance, accounting, operations, business development, marketing, and sales has allowed me to see organizations from very different angles. Outside of work and class, I’m usually reading about something new, testing a better way to do something, or finding someone who knows more than I do and asking questions.

Right now, I’m especially interested in narrative intelligence, consumer data and privacy, AI, economic development, institutional capital, and the science behind great leadership. I’m also interested in how emerging technology can make people and organizations more effective without replacing the judgment, relationships, and accountability that good leadership requires.

I believe there is a difference between learning about something and seeing it for yourself. That is part of why I spend Wednesday mornings observing Oxford Municipal Court. It is also why, when I come across an executive, attorney, entrepreneur, or other leader whose work interests me, I’m willing to reach out, introduce myself, and ask if I can learn from them.

That same mindset shapes how I lead the Ole Miss Business Club. As President, I spend much of my time building relationships with companies and business leaders, developing programs, leading our team, and creating opportunities for students. Some of the opportunities I’m most proud of started with nothing more than an idea, an email, and the willingness to ask.

I don’t have every step of my career mapped out, and I’m not trying to. Right now, I’m focused on asking better questions, learning from people with experiences different from my own, taking on problems I haven’t solved before, and continuing to build things that are useful to other people.

I was recently featured by the Ole Miss School of Business.

What I'm Writing

I write about the questions that make me want to dig deeper, across business, law, leadership, and technology. Consider this a running collection of what I’m learning, questioning, and paying attention to.
