Who I am now
I’m a senior at the University of Mississippi pursuing a B.B.A. in General Business on a pre-law track, with an expected graduation date of December 2027. I serve as President of the Ole Miss Business Club and am an intern at EdgeTheory. I’m originally from the Dallas, Texas area and graduated from Coppell High School.
What shaped my interest in business and law
My interest in law is personal. During my senior year of high school, I watched my mom’s years-long legal battle with the Securities and Exchange Commission reach the U.S. Supreme Court in SEC v. Cochran. Until then, law had mostly been something I understood from the outside. Watching a case affect someone so close to me made me curious about the relationship between businesses, individuals, regulators, and the institutions that have authority over them. That curiosity has stayed with me.
My experience across finance, accounting, operations, business development, marketing, and sales has let me see organizations from very different angles. It has also made me interested in the systems behind them: why some organizations grow while others stall, how incentives influence behavior, and what separates good leadership from simply having authority.
Right now, I’m particularly curious about consumer data and privacy, artificial intelligence, economic development, institutional capital, narrative intelligence, and leadership.
How I approach work and leadership
I believe there is a difference between learning about something and seeing it for yourself. That is part of why I spend Wednesday mornings observing Oxford Municipal Court. It is also why, when I come across an executive, attorney, entrepreneur, or someone else whose work interests me, I’m usually willing to introduce myself and ask if I can learn from them. Some of my favorite experiences have started with nothing more than an email and a question.
That same mindset shapes how I lead the Ole Miss Business Club. As President, I spend much of my time building relationships with companies and business leaders, developing programs, leading our team, and creating opportunities for students. The part I enjoy most is taking an idea that does not exist yet and figuring out how to make it real, useful, and sustainable.
Outside of work
Outside of work and class, I love playing tennis, spending time with my friends, going to church, and listening to country music. I’m also usually reading about something I know very little about or trying to figure out a better way to do something.
